Part II
It has been a little over a week or so since I posted the beginnings of what I find aggravating and the saga still continues. We have yet to receive any paperwork from the court as to what will occur next in this ongoing process. In the mean time, there is no shortage of the drama as it has been for the last two years. Recently, a comment was made that I was "slandering" this person and therefore, ended up posting a lovely definition of slander on my facebook. First, my facebook is private, so I have no idea how this person is even seeing anything and I have even deleted every person that could possibly be telling her anything. Anyhow, the basic definition of slander is to tell an untruth about someone that will damage their repuation. I have not done this to her, however, she has slandered both my husband and I to the point where people who see us, will ask us about the things that she has said. It is amazing what someone can come up with when lying is all they have known. I read a quote the other day that says "I love listening to LIES when I know the TRUTH." I must admit, some of the things that people have asked us about have left me laughing so hard I cry because they are so off the wall, that I couldn't imagine coming up with half of the stuff. I wish things would be a lot smoother for the sake of my step-daughter but when parents put their own interests ahead of their children's interests, it tends to get ugly and unfortunately ends worse than it could've been in the beginning. On a brighter note, when I dropped my step-daughter off today, her mother's, mom's, boyfriend (I know, its a mouthful) talked to me outside for about five minutes or so. It was small talk about gas prices and our new truck and our other vehicle that is now in the shop. This all occurred after my step-daughter was already inside with her mother so it is obvious that they don't have a problem with me, only she does. There is a lot of speculation as to why she doesn't like me, many different people have their theories, but frankly, the only thing I am concerned with is what is in my step-daughter's best interest until her mother can get her life together. Over this weekend we celebrated St. Patrick's Day with crafts and painting our fingernails green.. it was a great time! My husband and I want to take his daughter to see new things and experience life but we can't because 2 days a week isn't enough to go anywhere. It is really sad, and hopefully this next month will bring better days and better things to come!! Until then, I hope all of you enjoyed your weekend and thank goodness the weather is BEAUTIFUL!!!
